Speed and safety are usually traded against each other. We think that trade is lazy engineering. From today, every instant payment you send from a Nordhaven account can be recalled within 60 seconds of confirmation, directly from the transaction screen.
Technically, the payment is committed to the scheme immediately but funds are held in a settlement buffer for the recall period. If you recall, the buffer releases back to your balance and the counterparty never sees a pending credit.
The window does not apply to payments to your own verified accounts, which settle with no hold at all, or to card authorisations, which follow scheme rules.
Recalls are free and unlimited. We are not going to charge you for a moment of human error.
